Upon Arrival — Upon your arrival at Mangaluru Airport/Railway Station, our Bayard Vacations representative will warmly welcome you and accompany you on a scenic journey to Udupi, a charming coastal town celebrated for its spiritual heritage, pristine beaches, and serene landscapes.
Enroute Sightseeing
Maravanthe Beach (Approx. 30 min stop) — One of India's most distinctive coastal stretches — a narrow strip of land where the Arabian Sea lies on one side and the serene Souparnika River flows parallel on the other, with National Highway 66 running between them. The result is a double-water visual unlike anywhere else on India's coast. The beach itself is clean and picturesque, ideal for photographs and a brief walk.
Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple (Kumbhashi) (Approx. 30 min) — A historically significant and spiritually vibrant temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha (Vinayaka), set dramatically atop a rocky hillock surrounded by lush forest near Kumbhashi village. The annual Rathotsava (chariot festival) here draws tens of thousands of devotees. A peaceful and scenic stop with good views of the coastal landscape.
Arrival in Udupi — Upon arrival in Udupi, proceed to your pre-booked hotel and complete the check-in formalities. Take some time to relax and refresh after your journey.
Evening Sightseeing
Malpe Beach (Approx. 1 hr) — A busy and lively fishing harbour beach 6 km from Udupi town, featuring golden sand, palm-fringed shores, and an active fishing fleet that creates a colourful scene in the early mornings and evenings. Water sports including parasailing, jet skiing, and speed boat rides are available. The evening sunset from Malpe pier is particularly beautiful.
Udupi Sri Krishna Temple (Approx. 1 hr) — One of the most significant Vaishnavite temples in South India, said to have been established by the philosopher-saint Madhvacharya in the 13th century. The temple is particularly famous for its Kanakana Kindi — a window with nine holes through which the devoted saint Kanakadasa is believed to have been blessed with a vision of the deity after being denied entry. The temple's pristine white exterior and deeply traditional character reflect the essence of Karnataka's religious heritage.
