Question 1

What is the best month to visit Karnataka?

Accepted Answer

October to February is the best time: 15–28 °C in Coorg, Chikmagalur and Mysuru, dry days for Hampi and the coast. March to May is hot in the plains but pleasant in the hills; June to September is monsoon, lush in Coorg and the Western Ghats with the Jog Falls at full flow. Our Karnataka packages start from ₹13,000 per person.

Question 2

How many days do I need for Karnataka?

Accepted Answer

Three nights covers Mysuru and Coorg from Bengaluru; five nights adds Chikmagalur or Hampi; seven nights lets you do Mysuru, Coorg, Udupi and Gokarna on the coast. Our Karnataka packages run from 2 to 6 nights.

Question 3

How do I reach Karnataka's main destinations from Bangalore, Hyderabad or Chennai?

Accepted Answer

From Bengaluru, Mysuru is 3 hours by road or 2 hours by Vande Bharat, Coorg 5–6 hours, Chikmagalur 5 hours and Hampi 6–7 hours (or an overnight train to Hosapete). Hyderabad and Chennai fly to Bengaluru in about 1 hour and continue by car, or fly to Mangaluru for the coast. Our packages include a private car from Bengaluru.

Question 4

How much does a Karnataka trip cost for a couple?

Accepted Answer

About ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 for two for 4 nights excluding travel to Bengaluru, as of October 2026: our Karnataka packages start from ₹13,000 per person, land only, with a private car. Coorg plantation homestays are ₹4,000–₹9,000 a night; Hampi heritage hotels ₹5,000–₹12,000.

Question 5

Coorg, Chikmagalur or Ooty: which hill station should I pick?

Accepted Answer

Coorg for coffee estates, Abbey Falls and the Dubare elephant camp on a 2-night break; Chikmagalur for quieter estates and Mullayanagiri treks; Ooty (in Tamil Nadu) for the toy train and colonial hill-station feel. Coorg plus Mysuru is the classic 3-night loop from Bengaluru.

Question 6

Is Hampi worth it, and how many days?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Hampi is a UNESCO site of ruined temples and boulder landscapes unlike anywhere else in India; two nights is right, with a sunrise at Matanga Hill and a coracle ride. Combine it with Badami and Pattadakal for a 4-night heritage loop. November to February is the season.

Question 7

Is Karnataka good for kids and senior parents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mysuru Palace, the Coorg elephant camp, Udupi temples and the Jog Falls suit all ages; drives are 3–6 hours, so our itineraries break them. Hampi involves walking on uneven ground, so plan short mornings for seniors.

Question 8

What should I pack for Karnataka?

Accepted Answer

Light cottons, a light jacket for Coorg and Chikmagalur mornings (12–18 °C in winter), walking shoes for Hampi, modest clothing for Mysuru and Udupi temples, a rain jacket in monsoon, and mosquito repellent for the coast.

Question 9

Which Karnataka beaches are worth visiting?

Accepted Answer

Gokarna (Om and Kudle beaches) for a quieter Goa alternative, Murudeshwar for the giant Shiva statue, Malpe and St Mary's Island near Udupi, and Karwar. Combine the coast with Udupi temples and Jog Falls in a 4-night loop from Mangaluru.

Question 10

Karnataka or Kerala: which should I pick?

Accepted Answer

Kerala for backwaters, Ayurveda and a packaged 5-night loop; Karnataka for variety on shorter breaks from Bengaluru: Mysuru heritage, Coorg coffee, Hampi ruins and quiet beaches, usually at a lower cost. See Karnataka packages from ₹13,000 per person.

Question 11

What is included in a Bayard Karnataka package and what is not?

Accepted Answer

Included: hotels with breakfast, a private air-conditioned car with driver for the whole trip, the sightseeing in the itinerary (Mysuru Palace and Chamundi Hill, Coorg's Abbey Falls, Dubare and Talacauvery, Chikmagalur estates, Hampi monuments with a guide as listed), and 24/7 support. Not included unless stated: flights or trains to the start city, entry tickets, lunches and dinners, and personal expenses.

Question 12

Can I customise a Karnataka package or travel on my own dates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each of our 18 Karnataka itineraries can be rebuilt for your dates, hotel category and group size, including a Gokarna beach finish, Kabini wildlife, or a Bengaluru–Mysuru–Ooty combination. Send your dates on the enquiry form and a planner replies within one working day.
