Bengaluru has no non-stop flight to mainland China; the quickest route is Cathay Pacific's daily non-stop to Hong Kong (about 5 h 35 m) with a connection on to Shanghai, Beijing or Guangzhou, about 11 to 14 hours in all, while Singapore and Kolkata are the other usual connecting points. Indians need a China visa: since 22 December 2025 the form is filled and documents uploaded online first, and Karnataka residents then hand in the passport at the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Mumbai.

Most travellers take Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong (daily Bengaluru–Hong Kong non-stop, then a short onward flight to Shanghai or Beijing) or Singapore Airlines via Singapore, at about 11 to 14 hours. What is the best month to travel from Bangalore to China?

April to May and mid-September to October give the best weather in Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an, and April has been the cheapest month to fly from Bengaluru. Avoid China's three national holiday weeks, when fares and hotels jump and sights overflow: Spring Festival (around 6 February 2027), Labour Day in early May and National Day Golden Week (1–7 October), as of October 2026. July and August are hot, crowded and wet in the south.
