Indians need a China visa: the application is filled in and documents uploaded online, then the passport is handed in at a Chinese Visa Application Service Centre, which for Telangana residents is New Delhi.

Via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific, as of October 2026: the overnight Hyderabad–Hong Kong non-stop lands around 9.30 am and connects to Shanghai, Beijing and other mainland cities, about 11 to 14 hours in all. There is no non-stop from Hyderabad to the mainland; other options connect via Singapore, Bangkok or Delhi, where Air India flies non-stop to Shanghai.
