Gangtok, Pelling and Namchi need no permit for Indians, but Tsomgo Lake, Nathula and North Sikkim (Lachung, Lachen, Gurudongmar) need a Protected Area Permit arranged through a registered operator against a photo ID, and Nathula is closed to visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Bangalore to Sikkim: which airport and which flights?

Fly to Bagdogra (IXB) near Siliguri: IndiGo flies non-stop from Bengaluru daily in about 2 h 40 m to 2 h 55 m, as of October 2026, and Air India Express and Akasa Air also fly the route non-stop. Sikkim's own Pakyong airport has no scheduled commercial flights at present, so Gangtok trips start with the 4–5 hour, roughly 125 km drive from Bagdogra.

How much does a Sikkim package from Bangalore cost for 2 people?

Our Sikkim packages start from ₹16,000 per person, so about twice that for two, for the land package. Travel to and from Bengaluru is not included and fares change daily, so a Bayard travel expert prices them for your dates when you ask for a quote.

When is the best time to visit Sikkim from Bangalore?

October to mid-December for the clearest views of Kanchenjunga, and March to May for rhododendrons in the Yumthang valley. June to September brings monsoon landslides on the Gangtok and North Sikkim roads, which is why July fares from Bengaluru are the lowest. The busiest weeks are Durga Puja and Diwali in October and Christmas–New Year; in winter, Nathula and Tsomgo permits can be stopped for a day or two after heavy snow.
